Hurricane Helene

We know that farming is not an exact science. This year we experienced a number of setbacks that severely affected our chestnuts. First, a drought and secondly, damage from Hurricane Helene.

Even though our groves are in Middle Georgia, we experienced 100 mph winds that destroyed two-thirds of our crop. We were able to do some harvesting before Helene did her damage.. Thankfully, we did not lose any chestnut trees, but many limbs and branches were grounded. Clean up continues.
