The Story Behind The Diamond R Ranch

The Diamond R Ranch wasn’t built overnight—it’s the result of nearly 40 years of hard work and planning. Ted and Jody began planting their chestnut trees when their two daughters were still in elementary school, dreaming of a time when the ranch would flourish and provide for them in retirement. At the time, the trees were nothing more than slender shoots, barely the size of a number 2 pencil. Now, decades later, those same trees are towering giants, producing an abundant harvest each year.

Back then, Ted and Jody were still focused on their careers, but the ranch was always in the back of their minds—a project for the future. They wanted to create something sustainable and meaningful, something they could be proud of for generations to come. Planting Dunstan hybrid chestnuts, a variety known for its resistance to the blight that decimated native American chestnuts, was a perfect fit for that vision.

Today, Diamond R Ranch is a testament to that early dedication. Ted and Jody now enjoy the fruits of their labor—literally—and are proud to offer organic chestnuts for sale to those who appreciate quality, sustainably grown products.
